About Our Journey
Driven by our conviction that there is a way to create a world of equal opportunities for people with disabilities, the Society for Child Development (SfCD) was set-up as a non-profit organization in 1992 with innovative programs and initiatives for its actualization.
These programs and initiatives address the needs of children with disabilities and their families through the growing years, and then build capacities to enter the world of work. Our work does not end here – we work with our newly trained workforce with employment and self-employment ventures using the creative arts as our primary modality.
Ninety percent of SFCD is staffed by people with disabilities, even in core operations.
Prabhat Mobile School
Prabhat Mobile school reaches Delhi's slums, providing free daily education to 250+ children with disabilities. Their unwavering commitment to empowerment and inclusivity inspires hope for a brighter future in underserved communities.

Their impact has been profound, benefiting over 100,000 individuals with disabilities. From education and healthcare to vocational training and advocacy, the Society for Child Development has been instrumental in fostering a more inclusive society, where every person can thrive regardless of their abilities. Their unwavering commitment continues to leave a lasting mark on countless lives.

The inaugural ceremony for the ESCAP-Sasakawa Award for Disability-Inclusive Business in Asia and the Pacific presented its first Winners today. Three companies were awarded for outstanding achievement in responding to the needs of persons with disabilities in their business operations.
